Marcus Capone
Founder/Non-Executive Director
Marcus leverages his unmatched talent as a non-executive director cultivating quality and meaningful relationships toward building a network of partners, founders, and robust private sector and government networks, creating tailored deal flow. A Veteran Navy SEAL, Marcus was medically retired from active duty in 2013 after 13 years of service in Special Operations. He received numerous combat awards for valor throughout his 7 combat tours at SEAL Team 10 and SEAL Team 6, the nation's premier counter-terrorism unit.
Prior to founding The Sedona Group, Marcus was vice president at Fortress Investment Group focusing on a new healthcare innovation fund, and later started a boutique risk management consulting firm that eventually merged with a large government contractor.
Marcus attended Southern Illinois University on full scholarship, playing quarterback for the SIU Salukis. He has a graduate degree in Global Leadership from The University of San Diego School of Business and is currently completing his executive MBA at The University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.
Marcus is Chairman and co-founder of VETS: Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions, providing resources, research and advocacy for Special Operations veterans seeking alternative mental health treatments. Marcus currently splits his time between Dallas, TX and Southern California with his wife, Amber, and their two children.
